I’ve been told so many times about how amazingly beautiful and laid back Nusa Lembongan is that I knew I wanted to visit. It’s a nice addition to the list of things to do in the South of Bali. Honestly speaking though I didn’t know where exactly it was… Same with Nusa Ceningan.
Oh yeah, you can say that I am such a lazy girl. I am! I won’t deny it. So for lazy people like me *grin*, here I present a screenshot map of where Nusa Lembongan, Ceningan, and Penida are (off the coast of Bali). There’s also a very rough route of where the boat goes from Bali to Nusa Lembongan. I hope this can be useful!
How to get to Nusa Lembongan
Ok, since you already got the idea of where it is, the next question would be “how to get there?” I tell you what, it is pretty easy to get to Nusa Lembongan from Bali. There are three places where you can catch a fast boat to Lembongan. You can catch a ferry from Sanur, Serangan and Benoa. I will talk about the first two since they are the ones that I have taken a ferry from.
Talking about the boat to Nusa Lembongan, I’ll share my experience using two different services. I departed from Sanur beach to Lembongan using Rocky Fast Cruise boat and I returned from Lembongan to the mainland using Equator Fast Cruise.
Rocky Fast Cruise
Rocky boat departs from Sanur to Lembongan four times a day, they also departs from Lembongan back to Sanur four times a day. The Rocky Fast Cruise tariff costs $30 for a one way ticket and $50 for a return; price includes free pick up and drop off to Sanur, Kuta/Seminyak, Nusa Dua and the Jimbaran area.
Equator Fast Cruise
Equator Fast Cruise departs from two places to Nusa Lembongan, Sanur and Serangan. It takes 40 minutes from Lembongan to Serangan departing from Equator Beach Club. A one way ticket costs $28 and $50 for return. Equator Fast Cruise also provide free pick up service to these areas: Sanur, Kuta, Nusa Dua or Jimbaran.
Both Equator and Rocky Fast Cruise use a big boat. It was the first time I took a speed boat with around 60 people capacity (if I am not mistaken!). Life jackets are obviously provided and they take good care of your luggage (pssst.. I brought quite a big one that time. Sorrrry guys!)! They keep it safe, they carried my luggage to the boat and everything. Totally made me feel like a princess! Haha!
What to do on Nusa Lembongan
How to get to Nusa Lembongan is such an easy peasy thing, am I right? The next one would be, what can you actually do in Lembongan?
Nusa Lembongan offers you a full package! There are a lot of water activities that you can do around Lembongan Island. If you don’t have much time in Bali and are only able to make a quick visit to Nusa Lembongan, don’t worry! Equator Beach Club also offers two great packages for those of you who are looking for a day trip!

These trips depart from Bali in the morning and ends in the evening.
Join a Mangrove Tour
The mangrove tour on Lembongan Island is kind of similar with the Venice gondola rides. No, I have never been to Venice, but I think it’s a bit similar. You know.. One man standing at the end of the boat and piloting it. The Mangrove tour involves exploring the mangrove forest on a traditional boat “juking.” It is one of the activities that you can do when you visit Lembongan Island, Bali. I personally love this activity. Very peaceful and serene. I recommend you do it.
Explore Lembongan Island
The Island tour is your chance to see Lembongan Island. During this tour, I visited some amazing sights around Lembongan, such as: the Panorama point, Dream beach, Devil’s tear, Gala-gala, seaweed farm and the bridge that connects Lembongan to Nusa Ceningan. I’ll share more on my next post about Gala-gala, the underground house. You’ll be amazed about the story behind it.
Explore Ceningan Island
You can easily rent a motorbike or get somebody to drive you around. It took around 20 minutes by motorbike from Lembongan to Ceningan. The bridge that connects Lembongan and Ceningan is quite a small bridge and can just fit two motorbikes side by side. Ceningan is another small island that is famous for its Blue Lagoon cliff jump.
Just Chill Out
This is probably the best thing. Just take your time, slowly read a book and enjoy the beautiful view surroundings around you on Lembongan Island! Why not, right?
If you think that Nusa Lembongan is too pretty to only spend a day there, well.. Since I’ve given you idea on plenty things to do in Lembongan. Why not stay overnight or even stay several nights on Lembongan? There are plenty of options for accommodation on Nusa Lembongan. Check out my review of one of the best places to stay on the island: Review of Lembongan Beach Club and Resort.
Have you ever been to Bali? Did you stop over at Lembongan? What did you like most about Lembongan?
Disclaimer: Equator fast cruise and Equator beach club are under Tjendana Corporation. Rocky fast cruise is an affiliated with Tjendana corporation. I was invited to Lembongan by Tjendana Corporation, but as always, all opinions are my own.
