The Lombok Traditional Village Tour is a chance to learn about the history and culture of the Sasak tribe. Almost 85% of the population of Lombok are Sasak. Over the course of the tour you will visit Sasak villages and you will see examples of the distinctive architecture and arts. The tour includes a visit to a Sasak Village where you will see first hand how Lombok earthenware pottery and textiles are produced. During this one day tour you will also visit some of Lombok’s famous beaches and take a trek along coastal paths.

The cost for the Lombok Traditional Village Tour is Rp. 1,000,000 for two people, which is the minimum number of participants needed for the tour. The price covers transport, a guide, lunch and all activities for the whole day. If you have a larger group the cost per person will be cheaper. – One guide, driver by default, for every 6 participants.

*Pick up area includes Mataram, Kuta and Sengiggi. There is an additional charge of Rp 50,000 – Rp 100,000 per day, depending on the pickup point, outside of these areas.

What to Expect

The One Day Lombok Traditional Village Tour starts at 08.00 am. Your guide will pick you up from your hotel and take you to Banyumulek Village. The village is famous for its earthenware pottery. Entering the village, you will find some locals, mostly females, processing clay to make earthenware pots. You will learn the meaning behind the designs used on the pottery, see how the pottery is glazed and visit the showrooms where the pottery is exhibited.

After visiting Banyumulek your guide will take you to Sade Village. The village is in the countryside surrounded by rice fields. As you explore the village you will notice that many of the buildings in Sade Village have the distinctive architecture of the Sasak tribe. You will have an hour to explore the village. Just before lunch you leave Sade Village and head to Mandalika Beach.

You will have a simple lunch when you arrive at Mandalika Beach. When you have finished lunch you can trek along the beach or go for a swim. A nice thing to do while at Mandalika is to hike to the headland. The hill offers great views of the surrounding countryside. The last stop of the day is Mawun Beach. The beach is known for its distinctive salt and pepper coloured sand. At the end of the tour your guide will drop you off at your hotel.
