What to Expect
To reach the Gilis of East Lombok you will need to catch the boat that departs from Pandu Harbor in the Sub-District of Sembelia. Your guide will pick you up from your hotel in the morning and drive you to Pandu. From the harbour your group will take a fishing boat to Gili Kondo, the first destination on the tour. It’s a 30 minute boat ride across choppy water to the island.
Gili Kondo is a relaxing place to spend a lazy morning. The island has a few stalls selling snacks in front of the long stretch of beach. In front of the beach colourful coral reefs drop off into the deep blue sea. You can easily spend the morning going from sunbathing on the picturesque beach and snorkelling in the clear ocean waters.
After having lunch on Gili Kondo you will take a boat to the neighbouring island of Gili Lampu. The island is smaller than Gili Kondo and surrounded by mango swamps. There are lots of fish living in the reefs surrounding, including inquisitive Clownfish (often just called Nemo). At the end of the day the boat will take you back to Panda Harbor and your driver will drop you off at your hotel.
