The Goa Jomblang day tour is an Indiana Jones style adventure (ok, maybe Lara Croft). You’ll be lowered 60 meters into a sinkhole. Explore a hidden forest. Trek for more than 50 meters through a dark tunnel using only a flashlight. At the end of the tunnel you’ll enter a cave the size of a cathedral. A beam of light coming from a hole in the roof cuts through the darkness. As soon as you step into the light you’ll level up or get a great photo. In the afternoon you can take a traditional cable car over the ocean in Timang Beach, go cave tubing or visit a waterfall.
The Gua Jomblang tour starts at 7:30 am and lasts a full day. You do the caving in the morning and an additional activity in the afternoon. Popular places to visit include Gua Pindul where you can do cave tubing and Timang Beach. You’ll need a car for this day tour. We’ll arrange a 12 hour car rental with gas and an English speaking driver for you. The cost of the car rental is Rp 800,000. This tour will be one of the highlights of your holiday. The Important Facts
The Goa Jomblang package is a one day tour. Our driver will pick you up from your hotel and take you to the caves. It’s a 90 minute drive from Yogyakarta to the Goa Jomblang resort. When you arrive you have a safety briefing and you’ll be provided with a helmet, rubber boots and the safety harness you get lowered in.
To enter the caves you need to be lowered 60 meters over the edge of a cliff. It’s a 60 meter drop to the bottom of the sinkhole. Strapped into your safety harness you’ll be lowered into the forest. It is a bit scary, but it’s perfectly safe. When you arrive at the bottom you trek through a tunnel to Goa Jomblang cave. You’ll have 30-60 minutes to explore the cave before returning to the surface.
From start to finish the Goa Jomblang caving takes around 3 hours. The only time you can do this tour in the morning. They provide you with lunch after the caving. You can combine Goa Jomblang with one of a range of other activities. Some of the favourites include visiting Goa Pindul where you can go cave tubing and going to Timang Beach for the cable car. Whatever activity you choose to do in the afternoon, at the end of the day the driver will drop you off back at your hotel in Yogyakarta.
Gua Jomblang is one of the tourism highlights of Yogyakarta. It’s a great experience, you’ll get amazing photos and I wouldn’t be surprised if it ends up being the highlight of your holiday. We can make all the arrangements for you. We can also create a customised itinerary if you’d like. There are limited spaces so we recommend booking in advance. Hi Firsta, we really enjoyed Jogjakarta massively, especially the Ramayana Ballet and Jomblang Cave. Thanks a lot for helping us organise the tours despite our many queries. Everything went smoothly, just sad we did not have the chance to do Merapi trekking (i guess that gives us a reason to go Jogja again!). We would definitely recommend you to our friends if they will ever go to Jogja.
Thanks Firsta for organising our day trip to Jamblong cave. She relies email or Facebook really efficiently and has very good English skills. The driver she hired us was called Giarto and he was sooo adorable and excited to show us around. The cave itself is breathtaking, you can see my photo of it here : https://instagram.com/p/BA5lrEWiZi_/
And if I do come to Java again I would definately organise things through Firsta ?
Hi Firsta! Thank you so much for all the help rendered. Excellent service – you replied my emails within the day and as long as my requests were reasonable, you agreed to them without hesitation (i.e. to be picked up from my hotel at 6am instead of 730am to avoid the traffic jam). Our drivers, Harry & Wandi were so friendly and fantastic, that we gave them a tip at the end of the day ? Last but not least, thank you again for helping to co-ordinate the booking that allowed us to explore Goa Jomblang / Jomblang Cave. I loved it so much it’s my profile picture on Facebook! I have already recommended you to my friends who’re planning to visit Yogyakarta in the new future, that’s how much I love your service! Be happy & healthy always!
Firsta, thanks for helping to organise the trip to Jomblang Cave. We had an excellent experience there. Our driver, Aghi, was a quiet but very polite and helpful. He was very punctual (even earlier than our scheduled time) and very knowledgeable. We only had to tell him where we wanted to go and he knew the places straightaway!
I would totally recommend your service to others – all the arrangements were very easy and the response was very quick. It made my planning so much easier.
Hello Firsta, we have just arrived in Yogyakarta and will be here for the next 5 days. We were planning to watch the sunrise in borobodur and also go to jomblang cave. Are there any group tours scheduled to those places on the next days? We are 2 people! Tks a lot
Hi Karine,
Email you more details regarding your request.
Hi Firsta, just wanted to clarify the price — a tour would be 450k + 600k for a total of 1,050,000 IDR, correct? And if there were two people, it would be 1,500,000 (450k x2 + 600k)?
Hi Leslie,
That is correct. Look forward to receiving order from you (just fill in the booking form). 🙂
Hey there Firsta!

Thanks.
Hi Nad,
Sure we will get in touch through email.
Hi Firsta,
If i stay around malioboro street and wanna join the Jomblang cave tour, after that tour i wanna go to Hutan Pinus Imogiri, is it possible? How much the cost.
*im solo traveler.
Regards.
Hi Azrie, we will send you an email. Thanks.
Assuming 2 people taking this tour, so total Rp 1,500,000 including car rental? Your description in “Price” and “Tour Excludes” are contradicting.
Regards.
Hi Chin,
Basically if you are a single traveller, you can join a shared transport Jomblang (min 2 participants, usually there are other participants) with price: Rp 800,000 per person. If you are a group of 2, then you can rent a car: Rp 600,000 for 12 hours rental and Rp 450,000 per person for the Jomblang cave tour: Rp 450,000 x 2. Total is Rp 1,500,000. Hope it explains. You can always fill the form and ask us if you have any questions/concerns.
Update October 2022, Jomblang cave is now Rp500,000 per person.
Hi,
We are a group of 5 and are looking at this package. Just wondering for us, the total cost for 5 would be 600 000 RP (Van) + 2,950,000 RP = 2,550,000 RP??
And since the van rental is up to 12 hours, means from 0730 to 1930?
Thank you.
Hi ZZ,
We sent email to you. Thanks.
Hi Firsta
Is it possible my kids 12 and 10 years old to join the Jomblang Cave tour? They’re sometimes climbing mountain (1000m) with us .
Thank you.
Hi Lee. Yes that should be fine.
Hi Firsta, I was thinking of doing this Jomblang Tour and after that head to Timang Beach. Will the price of the tour be the same? – As Timang Beach i will not want to join any tours.
Hi Hayley,
The price stated here is only for 12 hours car rental and Jomblang cave tour. The cost for Timang Beach activity (or any additional activity after Jomblang cave tour is not included). If you are travelling alone, the price Rp 800,000 per person is shared transport program. This means that you will not be able to do any additional activity after Jomblang. The route is pick up at hotel – Jomblang – back to the hotel (Yogyakarta). The shared transport program requires min 2 participants.
Hi I am confused about the cost. Does the tour for the Jomblang cave include the car rental or is the car rental and additional 600,000 on top of the tour price?
Thanks!
Hi Li-Anne,
We sent you an email 3 days ago. The Jomblang cave tour is Rp 450,000 per person (without the transport), and the car rental is Rp 600,000.
Let us know if you are interested in booking.
Update October 2022, Jomblang cave tour is Rp 500,000 per person (without transport).
Hi Firsta,
We’re a group of 5 heading to Yogyakarta on 2 Jan. We’re planning to go for the jomblang tour on our third day (4 Jan). Is it possible to walk in to tours on the day itself or must we book in advance? Is it possible to lias thru email?
Thanks

Hi Firsta,
May I know the age limit to do this Jomblang Cave activity?
Hope to hear from you soon.
Dear Nurul,
There is no age limit for the cave tour, however minimum height is 100 cm. Minors need to be accompanied by and adult (1-1).
Hi Firsta,
I’m hoping to do the tour while I’m in the area in the coming weeks, I want to check whether there are any open spots on those days. Hope to hear from you soon. Thank you.
Dear Sotheary,
It should run every day. If you are interested in joining the tour, please fill and submit the form on this page.

Hi Firsta,
Me and my wife are planning to visit Jomblang Cave on April 18, 2019. How are the updated cost per person?
Dear Ferri,
Thanks for getting in touch. We have sent an email to you. Hope to hear from you soon.
Hi Firsta, is it possible to abseil down the cave with a 1 year old? He will be in a baby carrier strapped to me
Hi Jem,
I’m not sure to be honest. Everyone who comes down is required to use a harness, I don’t think they have a 1 yo baby harness.
Let me ask and I’ll let you know through email.
